So its been a busy few months! Baby Mollie arrived in March so we have been settling into life as a family of four. I really enjoyed the first few months of her life and totally soaked up every moment of her.
However, when self employed you cant be away from your business for too long. I knew I was going to London for a Meet the Designer event last weekend since January so i was well prepared for my trip away from the girls. The freezer was stocked with pumped milk and Daddy fully up to speed with the routine. Luckily, I have a fantastic husband who is my equal, who fully supports and encourages me in every aspect of my life. We are a team so that made it easier to go to London for the event.
The venue was Wolf and Badger, my new stockist since February, who stock and support lots of new and emerging designers in fashion, accessories and homewares. They have an excellent online store and two stores in London – Dover Street and Notting Hall.
The meet and greet was an excellent opportunity to meet the customers, make connections and sales. We served Pimms and had discounts on the day. I really enjoyed explaining the inspiration and story behind my designs.
The weekend wasn’t all work and no play however – there was lovely meals and drinks – Friday: Honest Burger and a little dance in Canvas Bar (both in Shoreditch), Saturday night Flat Iron for dinner and Archer’s Bar (my blogger friend Helen had some dancing on tables with West end singers !!) but in the Soho area.Sunday I had a lovely Oz style brekkie in Lantana Cafe in Shoreditch. It was divine.
May I also just add it wasn’t all glamorous – There was behind the scenes pumping milk in toilets, offices, on airplanes and in taxis and loads of lugging suitcases of jewellery display around the tube!
A massive thank to my friend Helen of http://www.mintenvy.com. we have came a long way since meeting sharing a room at UCD 2002! Credit all the photos to her and all the Pimms prep at Wolf and Badger plus the fabulous company! Thanks to my cousin Niamh for help on the day too, plus a great evening on Saturday. and of course to the wonderful Wolf and badger and the lovely staff there it was a pleasure to spend the day there Saturday. My wardrobe for the weekend was all sourced in place.ie – Place Boutique Gorey, Ireland.
Excited to say I will be at the POP up shop in the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch on the 31st of July more details to follow. Where I will hopefully meet lots of new London customers.
